DESCRIPTION:Oswestry Folk and Acoustic club is a friendly\, welcoming club who welcomes anyone who wants to sing\, play or recite a poem.Musicians / singers perform minimum 2 songs\, tunes\, poems. We have a guest alternate months. Admission is free but we take donations and run a raffle to pay for future guests. During a break in the evening we serve sandwiches and sausage rolls. It is a cash only pub.

Friday 20th March – 8pm (Doors 7.15pm) \nLights Out Events are delighted to welcome Sound of the Sirens \nA brilliant singer-songwriting duo based in Exeter\, Devon comprising of Abbe Martin & Hannah Wood. \nHoning their craft over the past decade\, Martin & Wood have cemented themselves as firm favourites as “one of the UK’s finest folk acts” not only on the Westcountry scene\, but nationally\, and internationally too. Their status\, and fast-growing fan-base is not only testament to the pair’s prowess as songwriters and musicians\, but as people too. \nMartin & Wood are two of the hardest working musicians on the scene and wear their hearts very much on their sleeves in terms of their songwriting. The pair glide gracefully through laments of past relationships\, and life experiences\, as well as highlighting the important topics of the day\, namely mental health awareness\, and homelessness. Not to be missed! \n

There is a large carpark behind to the left of the pub which is free. It is a cash only pub. \nThis is an opportunity for you to bring your songs\, tunes and poems to others where you will be listened to and whatever your experience and ability everyone will be accepted. \nThere will be an opportunity to join in with others (like a jam) if needed and maybe for some\, a first experience of performing for others.

DESCRIPTION:Away from the clamour and energy of The Winter Yards Band\, Steve Knightley’s spring tour reveals a very different side to his music. Sanctuary – Songs in Sacred Spaces is a calm\, immersive and contemplative series of performances created specifically for churches\, chapels and historic venues. Drawing on influences from Bob Dylan to William Blake\, from the English folk tradition to his own finely crafted compositions\, Steve explores songs of history\, landscape and human experience — material that resonates naturally in rooms shaped by centuries of song and prayer. \nThese concerts will be reflective\, ambient and atmospheric\, inviting audiences to listen more deeply in spaces where sound lingers and attention settles. Each evening also features special guest Dan Salvatore\, whose hand-forged handpan brings a meditative\, bell-like presence — an instrument designed to evoke harmony\, balance and relaxation. Together\, Steve and Dan create a unique sound together.
