DESCRIPTION:The Blowout is the annual gathering of the Bagpipe Society but welcomes non-members too.   \nIt is held at the Memorial Hall and St Editha’s Abbey in Polesworth\, Warks\, B78 1DU.  \nNext year’s Blowout celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Bagpipe Society. The main focus is on bagpiping with workshops for all levels from absolute beginners to advanced players (some loan instruments are available for beginners)\, but there is also a workshop for hurdy-gurdy. \nFree concert at the Abbey (7:30pm Sat evening);  followed by Bal Folk (9-12pm) on Saturday evening.   \nMore details\, timetables\, tickets etc will be available via https://www.bagpipesociety.org.uk/blowout from 1st March.

DESCRIPTION:A monthly Folk session at The White Horse in Shrewsbury (by the Column)\, occurring on the 2nd-to-last Wednesday of the month. It’s a friendly and relaxed session with both tunes and songs very welcome and from all corners of the world. \n  \nEvery month we choose a tune or two that we will definitely play at the session\, so everyone has a chance to join in with at least those tunes.
