John is a singer songwriter with a long list of songs covered by other artists from Fairport and Show of Hands, Paul Downes, Mike Silver, Phil Beer, Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham to club organisers and local club singers. This is a four piece band playing John’s songs, with daughter Emma Jones sharing the vocals with her Dad, Jim Sutton on double bass, keys and concertina, and Kathleen Ord on fiddle, whistles and vocals. John adds guitar and bouzouki.

It seems John’s songs are capable of exploring the complete range of emotions and his stories of his battles with life’s simple challenges can also bring tears to your eyes.

There are 5 CDs of John’s songs in the Vaughan Williams Library at Cecil Sharp House.

Three of the band are West Midlands based with the fourth from the Staffordshire moorlands.
