Dance Teams Looking for New Members
Have you ever wanted to join a dance team? Fancy banging a stick with the Morris side or swinging your sword with a Rapper team? Then check out the list below for dance teams who are looking to recruit!
Shropshire
Shropshire Bedlams
New members are welcome at any time. You do not need to be an experienced dancer, but you do need to be at least 12 years of age.
Just come along to a practice and make yourself known.
Practices take place on Tuesday nights from 8.00pm to 10.00pm at two separate venues (we know, it’s confusing):
- The High Town Community Hall, Vicarage Road, Clun, SY7 8JG
- Lydbury North Village Hall, Lydbury North, SY7 8AU
1st Tuesday: Shared practice at Clun with Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish.
Other Tuesdays: Lydbury North
Practice on the first Tuesday of every month is a joint practice run-through (with MRTD). Newcomers are welcome to come along and watch, but there is no opportunity for teaching.
Shrewsbury Bull and Pump Morris Men
Shrewsbury Bull and Pump Morris Men welcome new members. We practice on Thursday nights throughout the year at Prestfelde School, London Road, Shrewsbury, SY2 6NZ. Initially new members are asked to join us from 8.15 to be part of the mixed team practice and then stay on for the men’s practice which follows on from it. Best to contact us in advance before arriving as sometimes we are booked to dance elsewhere on a Thursday evening.
Martha Rhoden’s Tuppenny Dish

The Shrewsbury Lasses
The Shrewsbury Lasses welcome new members. We practice on Thursday nights throughout the year at Prestfelde School, London Road, Shrewsbury, SY2 6NZ. Initially new members are asked to join us from 8.15 to be part of the mixed team practice and then will be invited to join the women’s practice which starts beforehand. Best to contact us in advance before arriving as sometimes we are booked to dance elsewhere on a Thursday evening.
AElfgythe Border Morris
We’re currently open to both dancers and musicians (any instrument considered and musicians are mixed gender). We practice at 19:45pm at the Baptist Church Hall in Alvechurch, Worcestershire.
Green Man Morris
We are always keen to recruit new members – both dancers and musicians. Our practices are on Tuesday evenings and alternate between Whitchurch and Faddiley, near Nantwich – Church House (2nd Whitchurch Scout Hut), Claypit Street, Whitchurch SY13 1LF and Goodwill Hall, Faddiley, CW5 8HY.
Stafford Morris
We’re always on the lookout for new dancers and musicians. We practice every Monday evening, 8.00pm at North End Community Centre, Holmcroft Rd, Stafford, ST16 1JG.
